Bruce Callow - ARTIST PROFILE
Before relocating to Costa Rica in 1992 Bruce fronted award winning campus power pop bands 21 HUNDREDZ and NEW INTERNATIONALISTS, touring with well known acts such as the Tragically Hip, Gowan, Frozen Ghost, Meat Loaf and the Wailers.
In March 2002 Bruce returned from his fourth successful Canadian solo tour that saw him perform various showcases at the Canada Music Week Festival at venues such as the University of Toronto and clubs on famous Queen Street West.
His original material brings to mind influences of the Who, Midnight Oil, R.E.M and U2. His lyrics evoke strong emotions that reflect Bruce's wide range of experiences and travels. His experiences in Nicaragua in the 1980’s and work with Central American refugees helped consolidate a strong bond with this region.
With Bruce's commitment to social justice and inexpensive beer.it is nosurprise he finds himself working the Nicaragua Desk at the British Embassy in San Jose.

In September 2002 his single PRISONER was released to 150 radio stations in Australia on the International Artist Radio Sampler CD put out by the A.I.R. (Association of Independent Record labels) and received extensive airplay all over that country.
Two tracks from the album RED ALERT (by the now reunited NEW INTERNATIONALISTS) were also selected to be included on the Brisbane based GSR CD compilation TIME IS NOW.
With his music firmly establised on the Australian airwaves Bruce successfully toured that country in July of 2003 playing 12 well attended shows in 5 different cities and also did numerous radio and TV performances including a special broadcast nationally on ABC National Radio.
After a two month Canadian solo tour in January and February of 2004 the song ONE OF THEM was released as a single in June on an album benefiting the Costa Rica Humanitarian Foundation, in association with Houston based singer Shannon Cutts.
